Tashkent State University of Law signed a memorandum of cooperation with new partners
Tashkent State University of Law signed a memorandum of cooperation with the World Youth Association of Uzbekistan, the Volunteer Association of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the public association of disabled people “SHAROIT PLUS”(NGO), the national movement “Yuksalish”, and non-governmental non-profit organization “Mehr Ko’zda”.
Issues of Improving the Legal Foundations of the Judiciary have been discussed
The Department of Courts, Law Enforcement, and Advocacy at Tashkent State University of Law organised an international scientific-practical conference on the topic “Improvement of the Legal Foundations of the Judiciary in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The international conference was attended by industry experts from the USA, Slovenia, representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Higher Judicial Council, the Higher School of Judges under the Higher Judicial Council, the Tashkent City Court, Tashkent Regional Court, the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Parliamentary Studies under the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Legal Qualification Improvement Center, and faculty members from TSUL, National University of Uzbekistan, the University of Public Security, the Academy of Law Enforcement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The conference addressed international standards of independent justice and the prospects for the digitalization of judicial activities, as well as international standards of independent justice and the experience of Europe and the USA in this regard. Other topics included the role of information and communication technologies in improving the judicial system, the effectiveness of justice, the preparation of candidates for judicial positions, retraining of judges and judicial staff, the improvement of their professional development system, and the selection, appointment, suspension, and termination of judicial powers, along with the enhancement of the legal
During the international conference, several proposals and recommendations were developed regarding the improvement of the judiciary.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Tashkent State University of Law and TBC BANK
The event organized in connection with this event was attended by the acting rector of TSUL – Islambek Rustambekov, the chairman of the board of TBC BANK – Spartak Tetrashvili, and representatives of two institutions.
At the event, issues of developing cooperation between the university and TBC BANK in training highly qualified personnel, ensuring harmony of theory and practice, developing practical skills in students and broadly attracting young people into the banking sector were discussed.
An agreement was also reached on the training of lawyers working in the banking sector, conducting master classes with the participation of bank employees, creating conditions for TSUL students to undergo internships at TBC BANK, organizing job fairs for students who have expressed a desire to work in the bank, which will serve to form a personnel reserve.
Constitutional guarantees of individual rights in criminal proceedings are discussed
The international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Constitutional guarantees of individual rights in criminal proceedings,” organized by Tashkent State University of Law together with the branch of the INGO “Regional Dialogue” in Uzbekistan, continues.
The 2nd session of the conference is currently underway.
During the session, domestic and foreign experts make presentations on such topics as “Admissibility of evidence obtained in violation of the constitution, from a theoretical and practical point of view – Canadian experience”, “Issues of consideration of crimes by a higher authority”, “Experience of a professor and a constitutional judge in application of the constitutional criminal process in Slovenia”, “Problems of ensuring the principle of adversarial proceedings in court”, “Issues of ensuring the protection of individual rights in court proceedings”.
The current issues of evidence use in criminal proceedings were discussed
An international scientific and practical conference on “Current Issues of Evidence Use in Criminal Proceedings” was held at Tashkent State University of Law. The international conference, organised in collaboration with the University of Helsinki, saw participation from representatives of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Military Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Lawyers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy, the Authorized Representative of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Children’s Rights (Children’s Ombudsman), as well as faculty members from the Academy of Law Enforcement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, the University of Public Security, Tashkent State University of Law, and foreign universities.
The conference analyzed issues arising in the collection of evidence in criminal proceedings, the gathering and evaluation of electronic evidence, the requirements for evidence, and the challenges faced during these processes.
