SDG 1. NO POVERTY

According to the UN report, the poverty level in Uzbekistan decreased by 12.5% in 20 years. The report emphasizes Uzbekistan's goals of halving poverty by 2026 and achieving an average income level by 2030. It was noted that the development strategy for 2022-2026 and the Uzbekistan-2030 state program were an important factor in achieving a stable and inclusive market economy and attracting investments.

This is seen as the biggest factor in the fight against poverty. The report expresses confidence that the plan to completely eliminate poverty in the country by 2030, which is being promoted by Uzbekistan, has deep foundations. The country is ensuring moderate development.

In 2023, the trade union committee received 290 appeals from employees, comprising 152 requests for financial assistance and 138 requests for referrals to sanatoriums, preventive treatment centers, or children's daycare facilities. As of October 9, 2024, this figure had decreased to 289, with 154 appeals for financial aid and 135 for referrals to sanatoriums or preventive treatment centers, including 30 children who were sent to a children's camp. Of the 289 appeals received by the trade union committee, 281 (97.2%) were resolved favorably, while the execution of 8 appeals (6.8%) experienced delays, with employees provided explanations.

Help was provided to the poor and needy part of the population by TSUL

The university team is conducting systematic work in cooperation with 9 neighborhoods of Yunusabad district in order to reduce the number of unorganized youths in neighborhoods by organizing dialogues with young people, ensuring their employment and meaningful organization of their free time.

On the eve of Ramadan, under the leadership of university, the university team "Islamabad", "Kashkar", "Husniabad", "Buyuk Turon", "Buyuk Turon", "Mirzo Ulug'bek", "Firdavsi", "Turkkurgan" , visited "Ustashirin" and "Astrobad" neighborhoods and received information about 49 low-income families living there and in need of social assistance.

TSUL remains committed to supporting vulnerable groups in society and creating opportunities for the youth.

The Legal Clinic of TSUL – Winner of the competition held within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Rule of Law and the Protection of Human Rights in Uzbekistan"

The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Rule of Law and the Protection of Human Rights in Uzbekistan," conducted a competition in which non-governmental non-profit organizations and legal clinics providing free legal assistance participated.

The Legal Clinic of Tashkent State University of Law also successfully participated in the competition, winning first place due to its professionalism and effective activities. The award ceremony for the winners of this competition was held at the Ministry of Justice during a roundtable dedicated to the "Minimum Standards for Providing Free Legal Assistance.

About 200 children took part in a charity event organized at the initiative of the students of TSUL

The students of Tashkent State University of Law organized a charity event at the Sadaf ceremonies hall on the occasion of Ramadan Hayit – Eid al-Fitr.

The event was attended by about 200 children from Orphanage in Buka district of Tashkent region, specialized boarding school No 77 for blind children, Orphanage No 1, and the Republican Center for the Social Adaptation of Children.

More than 96 million sums of financial aid were allocated to TDYU students

Financial support was allocated to 55 students at the expense of extra-budgetary funds of the Tashkent State Law University.

The economic and social situation of students and the level of need for social protection were taken into account when allocating financial aid

On this basis, according to the established criteria, from 1 million sums to 3.5 million sums, a total of 96 million 63 thousand 200 sums were paid.

The living conditions of students of Tashkent State University of Law have been studied

Umida Khaidarova, a chairwoman of the Women's Advisory Council of Tashkent State University of Law, studied the living conditions of female students studying at the university and gave them her recommendations. Besides, a round table discussion was held for female students living in Student Dormitory No. 3 of the university.

To enhance the enrollment of talented young individuals at Tashkent State Law University, scholarships and educational grants were established pursuant to the rector's order No. 08-146, dated August 19, 2020. To date, 18 students have been awarded these scholarships and grants.

The university grant is a financial aid initiative designed to alleviate 50% of the tuition fees for one year of study for talented students in their first to third years of undergraduate education.

A university scholarship provides monthly financial assistance to exceptional students in their first to third years of undergraduate education, irrespective of any other payments mandated by law.

Republican Stage Criteria

  1. Presentation delivery (3 minutes) on a current legislative proposal

    Evaluated based on urgency, solution appropriateness, originality, and speaker proficiency

  2. Response to 10 rapid-fire questions on legal perspective
  3. Case study analysis

    One minute for contemplation, two minutes for response

Available Scholarships

Tashkent City Prosecutor's Scholarship

One student from each course will be selected through tests, presentations, and interviews. Winners receive a scholarship and recommendation letter from the city prosecutor.

Academic Khadicha Sulaymonova Scholarship

Established to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the outstanding scholar. Three students will be awarded this scholarship.
