SDG 8. DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
The 17-chapter Collective Agreement for the period 2023-2026, designed to safeguard the socio-economic rights and interests of team members concerning labor, was finalized between the university administration and the Trade Union Committee on February 28, 2024. The execution of the provisions of this collective agreement is subject to ongoing public oversight. The commission responsible for monitoring the adherence to the terms and obligations of the collective agreement comprises equal representatives from the Trade Union Committee and the Employer, along with the Chairman of the Honorary Council of TDYU.

Collective Agreement 2023-2026

A commission responsible for monitoring adherence to the terms and obligations includes equal representatives from the Trade Union Committee and the Employer, alongside the Chairman of the Honorary Council of TDYU.
Membership and Appeals
Currently, the TSUL United Trade Union Committee comprises 675 members, including 85 from the M.S. Vosikova Academic Lyceum under TDYU, out of a total of 760 members.
In 2023, the Trade Union Committee received 290 appeals from employees, consisting of 152 requests for financial assistance and 138 requests for referrals to sanatoriums, preventive treatment centers, or children's daycare facilities. As of October 9, 2024, this figure had slightly decreased to 289, with 154 appeals for financial aid and 135 for referrals. Notably, 30 children were sent to a children's camp. Of the 289 appeals, 281 (97.2%) were resolved favorably, while 8 appeals (6.8%) experienced delays, with employees receiving explanations.
Financial Support Provided
The total amount of financial support disbursed by the University Trade Union Committee to professors, teachers, and employees since the beginning of 2024 is 163.2 million soums, based on applications from 154 employees seeking assistance. This includes:
- 78.3 million soums for banking and other expenses
- 248.9 million soums for holidays and various public events
- 97.7 million soums for health camps benefiting the children of 30 employees
- 133.1 million soums for sanatoriums and rest homes
Additionally, 200.0 million soums were allocated for medical examinations of university staff, while 106.3 million soums were spent on physical education and sports activities. A 50% membership fee amounting to 445.9 million soums was remitted to the union council of the Tashkent city trade union organization.
Social Protection Initiatives
Focusing on the Trade Union's efforts in 2024 to enhance the social protection of employees, a total of 163.2 million soums will be allocated to 154 employees in need of assistance by September 2024. This material support is being actively provided.
To enhance the well-being of union members and their children, in 2024, the Trade Union collaborated with various organizations (Zarkent, Humson, Kosonsoy, etc.) to recognize 103 employees and their parents. Preferential access was granted to resorts in Chortoq, Ugam, and Livingstone. Additionally, 30 children of employees received preferential tickets to the "Westcamp" and "Aqtash" children's camps.
The visit of employees to cultural venues, such as the A. Navoi Opera and Ballet Theater, the State Satire Theater of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater, and the Muqimi Uzbek National Musical Drama and Comedy Theater in Tashkent, was organized for over 300 employees.
Concert Attendance and Medical Services
To date, the TSUL trade union has made significant efforts to facilitate employee attendance at concerts featuring popular artists. In the first quarter of this year, 432 employees attended concerts, followed by 562 in the second quarter, and 270 in the third quarter.
An agreement with the Trade Union and "Clinic Pro" medical center was established for the provision of medical services to employees. Currently, employees can access medical services at this clinic, including examinations such as consultations with a high-caliber cardiologist, ultrasound imaging, and general mineral analysis through referrals from the University Medpoint physician. As of now, 70 employees have received free medical examinations and treatment.
Sports Events and Domestic Tourism
The trade union coordinates sports events to promote a healthy lifestyle, in collaboration with the Spirituality and Enlightenment Center and the Department of Physical Education. This year, nine competitions and tournaments were conducted in various sports, including darts, badminton, table tennis, checkers, chess, and volleyball, with participation exceeding 250 employees.
To promote domestic tourism and facilitate collective and family vacations for employees, 60 individuals were dispatched to the "Olmos" and "Livingstone" recreation centers in the Bostonliq district of the Tashkent region, while 20 were sent to the "Supa Plateau" recreation centers in the Zomin district of the Jizzakh region. Overall, trips were organized for more than 100 employees.
